Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Start by turning off your phone. Use your fingers or a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover. Once removed, take out the battery by lifting it from the bottom edge.
Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards
Use a SIM ejector tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card and microSD card from their slots to prevent damage during the repair.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws from the midframe. Carefully use a plastic opening tool to pry the midframe away from the phone, exposing the internal components.
Disconnect the Display Assembly
Disconnect the display assembly flex cable by using the spudger to gently lift and separate the connectors. Be cautious not to damage the cables.
Apply Heat to the Screen
Using a heat gun or hair dryer, evenly heat the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive. Be careful to not overheat the device.
Remove the Broken Screen
Once the adhesive is softened, use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool to gently pry around the edges, releasing the screen from the frame. Take your time to avoid damaging internal components.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device and press it into place. Reconnect the display assembly flex cable to the motherboard, ensuring it's securely attached.
Reassemble the Phone
Reattach the midframe by aligning it with the device and securing it with the screws removed earlier. Reinsert the SIM and microSD cards, then place the battery back into its compartment.
Test the New Screen
Before sealing the back cover, power on the device to test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
Seal the Back Cover
Once confirmed that the new screen is working correctly, snap the back cover back onto the device. Ensure all edges are secure.
