Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your OnePlus Ace 5 5G is completely powered off before starting the repair. Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' from the menu.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set the tray aside in a safe place.
Apply Heat to Loosen Adhesive
Gently heat the edges of the phone using a heat gun or hairdryer. Move the heat source in a circular motion to prevent overheating, focusing on the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edge to release the clips. Be careful not to damage the fingerprint sensor cable.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect it. This step ensures there is no power running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Unscrew the screws securing the screen connector bracket using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Disconnect the screen connector using tweezers or a plastic spudger. Gently lift and remove the damaged screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen and connect the display connector. Secure it with the bracket and screws removed earlier. Ensure the screen is properly aligned and seated.
Reattach the Back Cover
Reattach the back cover, ensuring all clips are securely engaged. If necessary, apply new adhesive strips to ensure a proper seal.
Reconnect the Battery and Power On
Reconnect the battery connector and reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly.
Test the New Screen
Once the device is powered on, test the new screen for responsiveness and display quality. Ensure there are no dead pixels or touch issues.
