Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your OnePlus 8 Pro. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the seam and gently pry open the back cover. Use a suction cup to lift the cover if necessary. Work your way around the edges until the cover is free.
Disconnect Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the connector shield. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, and then insert a plastic opening tool to gently separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of the display cables as you lift the screen.
Install the New Screen
Carefully connect the new screen's display cables to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Secure it with the appropriate adhesive strips or pre-cut adhesive.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Temporarily place the back cover on and power on the device to test the new screen functionality. Ensure the touch and display work correctly.
Reassemble the Device
Once tested, remove the back cover again to secure it with adhesive. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the device. Ensure all edges are sealed.
