Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning the repair, completely power off your OnePlus 7 Pro. To do this, press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the menu that appears.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This step is crucial to prevent damage to the tray or device during the repair.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat the device. This will make it easier to remove the back cover.
Remove the Back Cover
Place a suction cup near the edge of the back cover and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Lift the back cover slowly to detach it completely.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect it. This ensures that there is no power running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. Insert a plastic spudger or opening tool to lift the screen from the frame. Be cautious of cables attached to the screen. Disconnect any cables using tweezers.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device frame. Connect any cables to their respective connectors. Secure the screen using adhesive strips or double-sided tape, pressing gently to ensure it adheres properly.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery. Replace the back cover by aligning it with the frame and pressing down firmly to secure the adhesive. Reinsert the SIM card tray into its slot.
