Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold the power button on your OnePlus 3 until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device. This is a crucial step to avoid any electrical hazards during the repair process.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to eject the SIM card tray from the side of the OnePlus 3. Set the tray aside in a safe location.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place, making it easier to remove.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently lift the suction cup to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious and patient to avoid breaking the screen further.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the metal cover over the battery connector using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Locate the display connector on the motherboard, and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it. This will free the screen from the rest of the device.
Install the Replacement Screen
Align the new screen with the frame of the OnePlus 3. Carefully connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure before proceeding.
Reconnect the Battery and Secure the Cover
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard using a spudger. Replace the metal cover over the connector and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
Attach the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Carefully align the screen with the frame and press gently to secure it in place. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to ensure it stays attached.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray and Power On
Insert the SIM card tray back into its slot. Hold the power button to turn on the OnePlus 3. Test the new screen to ensure it functions correctly.
