Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off'. Wait for the device to completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Carefully place a suction cup near the bottom edge, and use a plastic opening tool to create a gap between the back cover and the frame. Slide the tool around the edges to release the adhesive and gently lift off the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield and lift the shield away. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Battery
Gently peel back any adhesive strips securing the battery. If necessary, use a spudger to carefully pry the battery away from the frame. Take care not to bend or puncture the battery during removal.
Install the New Battery
Place the new battery into the compartment, ensuring it is properly aligned. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard, and secure it with the previously removed shield and screws.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new double-sided adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover. Carefully align the cover with the device and press down firmly to secure it in place. Ensure there are no gaps and the adhesive is fully engaged.
Power On the Device and Test
Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Check to ensure the device powers on correctly and the new battery is functioning properly.
