Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
First, ensure your Moto G9 Plus is completely powered off. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone.
Heat and Loosen the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat to avoid damaging internal components.
Remove the Back Cover
Carefully insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the back cover and the frame. Gently work your way around the edges to pry the cover off. Use a suction cup if necessary to lift the cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
Remove the Display Assembly
Unscrew the screws securing the display connector cover using a Torx T4 screwdriver. Remove the cover and use a spudger to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. Gently heat the edges of the display to soften the adhesive and use a suction cup and opening tool to carefully lift and remove the display.
Install the New Screen
Clean any residual adhesive from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Align the new screen and connect the display cable. Secure the display with new adhesive strips or double-sided tape to ensure a firm attachment.
Reconnect the Battery and Secure the Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the display connector cover, securing it with screws. Carefully align the back cover and press it firmly into place. Reheat the edges if necessary to ensure a tight seal.
