Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair

1

Power Off the Device

2 min

Before starting the repair, ensure that your Moto G7 is completely powered off. Hold the power button and select 'Power off' from the options. Wait for the screen to go dark.

2

Remove the SIM Tray

2 min

Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Store the SIM card and tray in a safe place.

3

Heat the Back Cover

3 min

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Warm the edges for about 1-2 minutes, moving the heat source in a circular motion.

4

Remove the Back Cover

5 min

Use a suction cup to lift one edge of the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to detach the cover. Take care not to apply too much force as this could damage the cover or internal components.

5

Disconnect the Battery

5 min

Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to prevent accidental power on during the repair.

6

Remove the Old Screen

10 min

Gently heat the edges of the front screen to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup and a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious around the flex cables and remove any screws securing the screen to the frame.

7

Install the New Screen

15 min

Align the new screen carefully and connect the flex cables. Ensure the screen is properly seated in the frame. Secure the screen with screws and apply the new adhesive strips around the edges.

8

Reconnect the Battery

5 min

Reconnect the battery connector and secure it with the shield and screws. Ensure the connection is firm and that the battery is properly seated.

9

Seal the Back Cover

8 min

Carefully align the back cover and press it into place. If necessary, use additional adhesive strips for a secure fit. Apply gentle pressure around the edges to ensure the cover is sealed.

10

Test the New Screen

5 min

Power on the device and test the new screen for touch responsiveness and display quality. Reinsert the SIM card tray and ensure all functions are working correctly.
