Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Tray
Power off your Moto G6 Plus completely. Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This will prevent any damage to the SIM card during the repair process.
Heat the Rear Cover
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently apply heat around the edges of the rear cover. This helps soften the adhesive holding the back cover in place. Be cautious not to overheat the device as this can cause internal damage.
Remove the Rear Cover
Use a suction cup to lift the rear cover slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool into the gap. Gently work your way around the edges to release the adhesive and remove the rear cover completely.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a plastic spudger to carefully disconnect it. This step is crucial to avoid any electrical short circuits during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Unscrew the screws securing the display connector bracket using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Disconnect the display connector. Use a heat gun to gently heat the edges of the front screen to loosen the adhesive, then use a plastic opening tool to carefully lift and remove the old screen.
Clean the Frame
Use isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean any remaining adhesive from the frame of the phone. Ensure the surface is clean and free of debris to allow a good bond with the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable. Secure the display connector bracket with screws. Ensure the screen is properly seated and firmly adhered to the frame using adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector and power on the device to test the new screen. Ensure the display functions correctly and responds to touch input.
Reattach the Rear Cover
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the rear cover. Carefully place the cover back onto the device and apply gentle pressure to secure it in place.
Reinsert SIM Tray and Final Check
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the device. Perform a final check to ensure all functions are operating correctly and the screen is flush with the frame.
