Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove Back Cover
First, power off your Moto G4 Plus completely. Once powered down, remove the back cover by gently prying it off using a plastic opening tool. Start from a corner and work your way around to avoid damaging the clips.
Remove the Battery and SIM Card
With the back cover removed, take out the battery by lifting it from the bottom. Also, remove the SIM card and microSD card if present to prevent any damage during the repair.
Unscrew Midframe
Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Keep the screws organized for reassembly. Carefully pry the midframe away using the plastic opening tool, starting from the edges.
Detach Display Assembly
Gently heat the edges of the display with a heat gun or hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a spudger under the edge. Work your way around the screen to detach it completely, being careful not to damage the ribbon cables.
Disconnect Display Cables
Once the screen is loose, carefully flip it over to access the connectors. Use tweezers to disconnect the display cables by lifting the retaining flaps and gently pulling the cables out.
Install New Display
Connect the new display's cables by aligning them with the connectors on the motherboard and securing them under the retaining flaps. Carefully align the new screen and press it into place. Ensure the adhesive is secure around the edges.
Reassemble the Phone
Reattach the midframe by aligning it with the device and securing it with screws. Reinsert the battery, SIM card, and microSD card. Snap the back cover back onto the device.
Test the New Screen
Power on your Moto G4 Plus and test the new screen. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. Ensure everything is functioning correctly before concluding the repair.
