Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure your Moto G Fast is powered off. Use the SIM card ejector tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover. Start from the bottom edge and work your way around, releasing the clips securing the cover.
Detach the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and use a spudger to gently pry it off. This step helps prevent any electric discharge.
Unscrew the Midframe
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe using the plastic opening tool. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.
Separate the Screen from the Frame
Use a hair dryer or heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently pull up on the screen while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it and disconnect the display cable using a spudger. Remove the old screen completely.
Attach the New Screen
Align the new screen and connect the display cable. Ensure the connection is secure. Carefully place the screen onto the frame, ensuring proper alignment.
Secure the Midframe and Battery
Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard.
Reattach the Back Cover
Snap the back cover into place by pressing around the edges to ensure all clips are engaged.
Test the Device
Power on your Moto G Fast and test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display quality are as expected.
