Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' and wait until the device is completely shut down. This prevents any electrical issues during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover of the phone. Start from the corners and gently work your way around the edges to release the clips. Set the back cover aside once removed.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently lift and disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any power flow.
Remove the Midframe
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Keep track of the screws. Carefully pry the midframe off using a spudger. Be gentle to avoid damaging internal components.
Heat and Remove the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place. Apply a suction cup near the edge and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully pry around the edges to release the screen.
Disconnect the Display Connector
Locate the display connector on the motherboard. Use a spudger or tweezers to gently disconnect it. Carefully remove the broken screen from the device.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the display connector to the motherboard. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
Secure the New Screen
Apply double-sided adhesive tape or pre-cut adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen. Carefully press the screen into place, ensuring a tight fit with no gaps.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe by aligning it with the device and securing it with the screws you removed earlier. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard.
Replace the Back Cover and Test
Snap the back cover back onto the device, ensuring all clips are securely in place. Power on the phone and test the new screen for full functionality.
